November 17, 2013

I have a new companion, Elder Tejero from Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. My fifth mexican companion. He is really great. He loves me and it has been really nice. He has about a year in the mission and has also been in Nahuala. It has been really enjoyable. He is coming from a zone that was pretty good and I feel like we'll be able to make some really great progress. He is really great for me.  The first night I explained a little bit about what has been going on, and he just listened and gave me some advice. It has been great.

Now, this week has been kinda tough because we had like 2 days where just everything that we had planned fell, then we would go to plan b and that would fail, too. It has been kinda tough. We haven't been able to get a hold of Byron. He has been lost like 2 weeks now. The members that have been working with him and inviting him to church said that he was going to come yesterday, and didn't show up. It was kinda sad.

This week we found a lady named Micaela, and she went to church yesterday. It was great.  It was really nice yesterday. We had the primary program and it was really nice. I got to accompany them on the piano, and it was just wonderful. Yesterday, we also invited a 9 year old by named Cristian to church and he showed up. His mom, Ana, has been a member for like 23 years, but basically inactive her whole time. We found her just by knocking on doors. The fact that those two went to church was just a nice little breath of fresh air. Claudia was going to go to church this week, but she had a sleepover at her uncle's house and couldn't. It is really interesting to see her progress in the gospel. Other people are noticing it as well. She has made a bunch of changes, and even explained a lot of doctrine to people that don't know a lot about the church. It is really exciting to see everything that she is doing. I think that she'll be going next week with a cousin of hers.

That's about it. Things have been nice here. I love this work and the Lord. Love you so much.

Love,
Elder Hilton
