October 7, 2013

Hey mom,

Thanks for the update. It looks like things are rolling right along for you guys and especially for Levi. We did get to see conference, and in english! It was great.
We did baptize on Friday! Carolina finally got baptized! She had gotten kinda sick. The glands that are in her throat started swelling up on Tuesday and Wednesday. That kinda discouraged her to not do it, so she was kinda undecisive. We went to go play soccer at the church on Tuesday and bishop put the date with her for Friday. Turns out that she went to get shots on Friday and sends us a message that she got shots and that she couldn't get baptized. So, we went straight to her house and talked to her about it. In the end, just took the decision to get baptized and did it. It was pretty wild. There wasn't any light in the church... At all. Her baptism was at 6PM and it was already dark. So we were looking for another church to do it in, and nothing was working. So we bought a ton of candles and started lighting them in the church so that everybody could see. At about 6:30 the lights turned back on and we finished with lights. It was a really great experience. Her grandma went, and shed a tear or two. It was really wonderful.

Celvin is really awesome. He went to every single session of conference with us and it was just really great. He enjoyed it a lot. He was taking notes like crazy and it was honestly just a great experience with him. He is prepared. His wife was a member and now she decided to leave him. I guess that he has been trying to send her messages to get her to come back, and at least she has answered him. She still doesn't want to come back, but it has been a really great experience with him. He is so humble and willing to do whatever we tell him. So far, he has stopped drinking coffee and reads the Book of Mormon everyday. He always calls us to see if we are going to go visit him. It is really awesome. He is dying to have more activities in the church. He is really awesome and I think that he is progressing really fast. Today, president is going to come out with us again. So we have an appointment scheduled with him, and it is going to be really great.

We went to visit Claudia yesterday and she is really great. She didn't go to conference because she was too tired. Last week she had two huge tests at school. But, when we went to visit her yesterday she was just chilling with her member friend. It is very interesting how much they talked about missionary work. I feel like they just pounded it on Saturday. It was very interesting. I feel like until we can learn to work with members in everything, the Lord won't give us the next step towards even more success in the mission. I love the Lord and love his ways. Mom, thanks so much for everything. I love you so much and thank you!

The lights went out for Alondra Carolina's baptism, then miraculously came back on.

Little Jaime's Baptism as well.

IS SETH GROWING!  Did you see his baptismal pants?

Here is some correspondence in regards to this question.

Haha hey mom. I measure myself every week on the machines that in the mall here. Every time I come out 190. However, I always have shoes on, but that isn't a lot, maybe an inch. I think I left at 6 feet maybe. If that is true that would make me so happy! My pants still fit me and I'm squeezing as much juice out of em as possible. Thanks for your worries mom. I would love to be that tall. Love you.

Funny thing is that I was thinking tha 6. 25 feet was 6 and 1/4 inches, so I was telling dad I hate to burst your bubble, then I had them do the  calculations, and for sure, 190 centimeter is almost 6 feet 3 inches.  But, are you sure this is accurate?  Didn't you leave at 5 foot 10 or 11?  How can you grow that much in a year,,that is 4 or 5 inches?  And how are your pants still fitting you in length if you have grown that much?  I think you better measure again.  Levi is super, super tall right now, taller than Ben, and he is 190 centimeters or 6 foot 3.  Can you possibly be that tall?  I thought he was the tallest of all the boys.  I am in disbelief,  Seth,  measure again, and tell me for sure.  I think you are pulling my leg.

I am anxious to hear, cause I am having a hard time believing, but if it is true, it would sure make sense that you are taller than everyone that you are around.  But your pants don't look too short unless you have let down the hems or something.  Re measure, and let me know, and no joshing!  I have to know the truth.

Love, Mom

p.s. if this is true, maybe your consistent early to bed early to rise may be paying off.  I think a lot of sleep is what aides height growth.
